Thermal Imaging Services

Thermal imaging is a technique that uses the heat coming off an object to create an infrared image. Most items except if at absolute zero emit some form of infrared radiation. It has a higher wavelength than visible light, so it cannot be seen by a naked eye. Infrared Thermography is referred to detect the heat signatures of different objects.

We use our thermal imaging gun as a non-invasive way to identify temperature variations in your home. These temperature variations can show us;

  • Air leakages in doors and windows
  • Water intrusion from the foundation
  • Plumbing leakages from bathrooms, showers, tubs and more
  • Inadequate or non-existent insulation in exteriors walls and attics

If these issues go undetected they can cause serious damage to your home over a period of time.

At SD Home Inspections, we include thermal imaging in all of our inspections
